St. Patrick (Portland, Mich.) extended its winning streak to 10 games with a 54-28 victory over
Cardinal Mooney Catholic (Marine City, Mich.) on Saturday.
The Shamrocks were up 35-6 at the half after taking the lead on a
Kyle Schrauben touchdown run in the first quarter.
St. Patrick expanded its lead to 36 points entering the fourth quarter. SP's lone score in the quarter came on a Schrauben touchdown run.
Collin Lay was the top performer for the Portland school. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored 26 touchdowns on the season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Cardinal Mooney Catholic, which notched a 28-24 victory over Kingston in its previous outing. The loss snapped the Cardinals' 2-game winning streak.
