Edmonson County will challenge Franklin-Simpson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Edmonson County needed a bit of extra time to put away Grayson County. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 10-7. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Julie Norris spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on 13 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emma Price was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Emma Davis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Edmonson County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Franklin-Simpson got the win against Todd County Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Hester Blanckenberg looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Ava Holland was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Grover, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Franklin-Simpson pushed their record up to 12-14 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Edmonson County, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-12 record.
