The Northeastern Jets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by Mechanicsburg on the road and fell 56-6. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northeastern has scored all season.
Jaelynn Bobst was Northeastern's leading scorer, having posted four points.
Northeastern's defeat was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Mechanicsburg, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
Northeastern will head out on the road to square off against Northridge at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Northridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northeastern in Ohio (Northridge is ranked 285th, while Northeastern is ranked 745th). As for Mechanicsburg, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against North Union at 7:30 p.m. North Union is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
