The Athens Hornets can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-1 margin over Van. Mackenzie Gardner was a massive factor in the win, as she booted in three goals all by herself.
Athens pushed their record up to 11-2-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 46 goals over those six matchups. As for Van, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will take on Bullard at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Van, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brownsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Van's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
