The Reading Rangers were the 53-41 winner over the Union City Chargers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Reading fell to Union City 40-36. Reading just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Reading lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brayden Wright, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Kling, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Rick Austin, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds for Union City. Aidan Decker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Reading's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Union City, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
Reading will take on Maple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maple Valley is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak. As for Union City, they will head out on the road to challenge Quincy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Quincy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
