If the Goessel Bluebirds were riding high off their 64-39 takedown of the Peabody-Burns Warriors back in December of 2023, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Goessel ended up on the wrong side of a tough 70-49 walloping at the hands of Solomon on Friday. Goessel was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Solomon apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Leading Solomon to victory were Jayceon Nelson and Spencer Coup. Nelson scored 23 points, while Coup scored 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carlos Duran, who scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals.
Goessel now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Solomon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goessel will take on Little River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Little River focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 back in December of 2023. As for Solomon, they will head out on the road to face off against Canton-Galva on Tuesday.
