The Pleasanton Blu-Jays came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 53-51 victory over Crest. For Pleasanton, this counts as revenge for the 67-63 defeat the Lancers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Pleasanton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mario Davis, who scored 18 points along with three steals and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Davis posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tony Gillespie, who scored 16 points.
Pleasanton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Crest, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pleasanton will take on the Jayhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Crest, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wildcats.
