Gaffney has gone 7-2 against Riverside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will host the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Gaffney will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Dorman, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Indians came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers on Wednesday, sneaking past 6-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Riverside). Everything went their way against Eastside two weeks ago as they made off with a 12-1 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Riley Bigler made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Bigler was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Butler, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Lupinacci, who earned one run and three stolen bases.
Riverside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Gaffney's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Gaffney came out on top in a nail-biter against Riverside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-5. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
