The Oxford Prep Griffins will head out on the road to square off against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Oxford Prep suffered their biggest loss since November 15, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 61-32 loss at the hands of Vance Charter. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Oxford Prep has suffered against Vance Charter since January 29, 2021.
Meanwhile, Roxboro Community waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Eno River by a score of 41-29.
Karrie Obie and Katherine-kaey "katie" Mann were among the main playmakers for Roxboro Community as the former dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds and the latter scored 16 points along with three steals. Mann hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Kaylyn Pope was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Oxford Prep has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Roxboro Community, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Oxford Prep suffered a grim 61-40 defeat to Roxboro Community in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Oxford Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
