The Lewiston Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 56-37 bruising from Lourdes Central Catholic. Lewiston found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 11 to 1 on offense.
When it comes to explaining why Lewiston lost, one person who can't be blamed is Everett Bohling. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Caleb Rule, who scored nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lourdes Central Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nolan Beccard, who scored 15 points. That's the first time this season that Beccard scored 15 or more points. Trevor Tesarek was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Lewiston's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
Lewiston will take on Pawnee City at TBD on Tuesday. Hopefully Pawnee City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday. Lourdes Central Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Elmwood-Murdock at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
