Jackson South Side pushed the score to 54-21 by the end of the third, a deficit Lexington had no chance of recovering from.
Jaidynn Askins was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kimora Currie was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Jackson South Side is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Lexington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson South Side will challenge Jackson North Side at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jackson South Side has three straight victories, Jackson North Side has 22 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field. As for Lexington, they will head out on the road to take on Chester County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chester County is coming into the game with seven straight wins at home, meaning Lexington will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
