Raymond Central is 0-4 against Malcolm since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will head out to face off against the Clippers at 4:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Raymond Central sitting on three straight wins and Malcolm on four.
Raymond Central came out on top against Louisville on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Mustangs took their game against the Lions 8-5.
Wyatt Jelinek was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with five stolen bases and two runs. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.

In other batting news, Teijan Novak was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Raymond Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Quentin Jano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Raymond Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, while Malcolm put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Arlington. The Clippers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for the Clippers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Gavin Little, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Arlington off the board.
On the hitting side, Justin Wisnieski was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2025. Nolan Duzik was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Raymond Central's record is now 10-8. As for Malcolm, their record now sits at 13-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Raymond Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Malcolm struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Raymond Central suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Malcolm in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
