The Eastside Eagles can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They managed a 64-58 victory over Laurens. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Eastside found their leader in underclassman Ginny Anne Dumont, who scored 23 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Miracle Cheeks, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Laurens lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nyri Allen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Zoe Young was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Eastside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for Laurens, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.
Eastside will take on Wade Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wade Hampton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Eastside surely won't give up without a fight. Laurens does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
