After soaring to 55 points the game before, the Freehold Township Patriots were a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They were beaten by Red Bank Catholic 87-23. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Freehold Township has scored all season.
Red Bank Catholic found their leader in underclassman Addy Nyemchek, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Nyemchek hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Giordano, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Freehold Township has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Red Bank Catholic, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Freehold Township won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Neptune at 4:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Neptune focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Red Bank Catholic, Red Bank Catholic and St. Rose will face off at 12:00 p.m. on January 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. St. Rose will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
