For the first time this season, Baldwin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will venture away from home to face off against the Wolfson Wolfpack at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Baldwin narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Yulee 3-1.
Maxwell Gallagher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Baldwin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Macik, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Macik is becoming a predictor of the Indians' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't). Chase Staley was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wolfson). They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Paxon School For Advanced Studies on Thursday. Considering the Wolfpack have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Wolfson got a massive performance out of Paxton Frederick, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Frederick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydin Morrissey, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Wolfson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
The win got Wolfson back to even at 7-7. As for Baldwin, the victory also got them back to even at 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Baldwin has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Wolfson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Baldwin's way against Wolfson in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Baldwin made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Wolfpack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
