The Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Ocelotls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 45-25 defeat at the hands of Lincoln. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART lost against Lincoln in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 36-15 score last time.
Lincoln's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Ambo, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hawa Gueye, who scored ten points.
Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain Prep SMART will face off against Addenbrooke Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Addenbrooke Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Adams City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Adams City is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
