Hardin-Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Green Ridge Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hardin-Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Hardin-Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 36-30 to Braymer. Hardin-Central has struggled against Braymer recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Libby Fifer put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 58 points the game before, Green Ridge were a bit more limited in their match last Monday. They were beaten by Concordia 59-24. While losing is never fun, Green Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while Concordia is ranked 120th).
Hardin-Central now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Green Ridge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Hardin-Central strolled past Green Ridge in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 38-19. Will Hardin-Central repeat their success, or does Green Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
