The Timnath Cubs can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 70-33 win over The Academy. The victory was nothing new for Timnath as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Leading Timnath to victory were Tiana Guzman and Gretchen Deines. Guzman dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Deines scored 19 points along with three steals. Guzman hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Ayslee Stone was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
The Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lilly Millan, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Timnath's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for The Academy, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Timnath will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Rocky Mountain at 7:00 p.m. Rocky Mountain presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Timnath in Colorado (Rocky Mountain is ranked 28th, while Timnath is ranked 110th). The Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Jefferson Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
