The Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau Red Hawks will take on the West Salem Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Altoona as they made off with a 15-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Red Hawks, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Sam De Jager made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. De Jager was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oliver Remus, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Thell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Salem fell victim to Tomah and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Timberwolves.
West Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Demorest, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. That stolen base was Demorest's first of the season.
Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.
Everything went Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau's way against West Salem when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau made off with an 18-1 win. Will the Red Hawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
