The Siegel Stars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a tough 64-44 loss at the hands of Pearl-Cohn. The contest was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Siegel struggled afterwards.
Pearl-Cohn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayanna Batey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Erianna Thomas, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten assists.
Siegel has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Pearl-Cohn, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Siegel will be home for the holidays to greet Shelbyville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Shelbyville Central is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. Pearl-Cohn will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Beech at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
