After a string of six wins, the High Point Academy Grizzlies's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Christ Church Episcopal, falling 81-44. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points High Point Academy has scored all season.
High Point Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being J'Sean Sanders, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Chris Copeland was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Christ Church Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Fagan, who scored 17 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of D.j. Harvey, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
High Point Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-8. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Point Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against St. Joseph's Catholic at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (St. Joseph's Catholic is ranked 97th, while High Point Academy is ranked 94th). As for Christ Church Episcopal, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Brashier Middle College Charter at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Brashier Middle College Charter is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.4 points per game.
