Volleyball Recap: Lakeland Preparatory Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Madelynn Chauffe and Ella Burd

After flying high against Fayette Ware on Thursday, Lakeland Preparatory came back down to earth. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arlington Tigers on Friday. The Lions were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ella Burd and Madelynn Chauffe certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Burd had ten digs and one assist, while Chauffe had six digs and one assist. Burd has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.

Lakeland Preparatory's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Arlington, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coincidentally, Lakeland Preparatory and Arlington will both be playing Dyer County the next time they take the court. The Lions will head out to face the Choctaws at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
