Volleyball Recap: Rudder's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Rudder came into Thursday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Elgin Wildcats on Thursday. The Rangers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Rudder didn't let Elgin take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 25-23.

Ja'Liyah McClenton paced Rudder's offense, picking up eight kills. McClenton really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 12.

The win got Rudder back to even at 7-7. As for Elgin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rudder will challenge Kingwood Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elgin, they will face off against Cedar Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
