Basketball Recap: Orangefield Drops Season-High Score on Terry

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Orangefield). They breezed by the Terry Rangers to the tune of 85-36 on Friday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 317th, while the Rangers are ranked 1534th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Orangefield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Jones led the charge by going 5 for 6 on his way to 10 points in addition to six steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Agerton, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Orangefield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for Terry, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.

Orangefield will take on West Fork in a tournament on Friday. Orangefield is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Terry, they will welcome Victoria West at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
