The Highlands Ranch Falcons waltzed into their matchup Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Littleton 71-37 at home. Highlands Ranch might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three games by 33 points or more this season.
Highlands Ranch was led to victory by Luke Bakken and George West III. Bakken scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while West III scored 17 points along with seven steals and five assists. That's the first time this season that West III scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton TerEick, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Despite the loss, Littleton had strong showings from Treyton Fletcher, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, and Sam Lasswell, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Fletcher scored a full 37.8% of Littleton's points, the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Littleton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Highlands Ranch pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Highlands Ranch's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Littleton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Highlands Ranch will head out on the road to face off against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Legacy is ranked 104th, while Highlands Ranch is ranked 105th). Littleton will be home for the holidays to greet Longmont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
