The Cardinal O'Hara Hawks pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-56 bruising from St. Francis. Cardinal O'Hara has not had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, Cardinal O'Hara still got an impressive performance from Kels Ivey, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Ivey is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. Simmarion Threet was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
It was another big night for Jeremiah Neely, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for St. Francis. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Bienko, who scored ten points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Cardinal O'Hara has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for St. Francis, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cardinal O'Hara will face off against the Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Park School of Buffalo is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. St. Francis is on the road again on Monday and plays the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully St. Mary's focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
