A Season-Best Performance from Aedan Mccarthy Leads Bluffton over Beaufort
Aedan Mccarthy produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bluffton to the win on Friday. Mccarthy threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 93 yards on only 13 carries.
For the year, Mccarthy has thrown 18 touchdowns while averaging 236.8 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging seven rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 63.83 rushing yards.

Andrew Johnson Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Andrew Johnson produced his most outstanding game to date while leading May River to the win on Friday. Johnson rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also caught a touchdown. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (102.2). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rushing yards.
The win for May River keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Johnson and May River will head out on the road to face off against Bishop England at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

The second Bluffton player making an appearance here is Carnell Warren, and for good reason. He picked up 139 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
For the season, Warren has caught 9 touchdowns while averaging 78.8 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had four receiving touchdowns.

Tanner Macy and Co. Win Fifth in a Row
Tanner Macy's big game helped extend May River's winning streak to five on Friday. Macy was unstoppable, rushing for 32 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 39 yards and two touchdowns.
Macy must have Colleton County's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Macy last faced the Cougars back in October of 2023, he rushed for 258 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns.
