At the plate, Elijah Poindexter was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jake Tamosiunas, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Brunswick lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland Heights didn't launched any.
Upper Arlington's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Hilliard Davidson on Friday. The Golden Bears came out on top in a nail-biter against Hilliard Bradley, sneaking past 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Will Gilmore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Upper Arlington secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Matthias Nemeth, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Upper Arlington's record now sits at 4-10. As for Brunswick, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Upper Arlington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brunswick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. It's a different story for Upper Arlington, though, as they've only averaged .209. Will they be able to contain Brunswick's hitters?
