Section 4 D Division VII recap Oct. 3, 2012
Unatego extended the longest winning streak in Section 4 D Division VII this week by beating Oxford Academy, 53-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Spartans.
Unatego took down the Blackhawks 53-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Unatego's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tyler Butler has thrown for 331 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Jon Wingate has six catches for 134 yards. Butler also leads the league in rushing with 403 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Frank Microni's team takes on Unadilla Valley/Edmeston Central. As it stands, the Spartans are in first, while the Storm are in third.
Unatego made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,421 from 4,795. The improvement was the result of 53-0 victory over Oxford Academy last week.
