Mt. Carmel faced Archbishop Hannan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cubs came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 2-0. The victory was nothing new for the Cubs as they're now sitting on four straight.

While Mt. Carmel won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23.

Mt. Carmel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Lopez, who had 15 digs. Lopez has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last six times she's played. Emma Palermo was another key player, getting ten digs and two aces.

Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 31-3. As for Archbishop Hannan, the loss snapped their winning streak at 11 matches and leaves them with a 25-8 record.

Coming up, Mt. Carmel is taking a road trip to take on John Ehret at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Archbishop Hannan, they will host John Curtis Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
