Creekside entered their tilt with Fleming Island on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They escaped with a win against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles back in December of 2024, they had to take a 66-53 loss.
Creekside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Derek Rivers, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.
Rivers wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Creekside was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

Creekside has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. As for Fleming Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside will host San Jose Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fleming Island, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Oakleaf at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakleaf knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Fleming Island likes a good challenge.
