The Clearwater Valley Rams will square off against the Kendrick Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with five losses in a row, Clearwater Valley turned things around against Nezperce on Thursday. They blew past the Nighthawks 23-9. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Clearwater Valley got a massive performance out of Tiago Pickering, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Pickering is becoming a predictor of the Rams' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-6 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Carson Schilling, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.
Clearwater Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Kendrick strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over Prairie.
Hudson Kirkland made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Xavier Carpenter was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Boyer, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
The win got Clearwater Valley back to even at 6-6. As for Kendrick, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.
Saturday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Clearwater Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Kendrick struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
