Even though the Ignacio Bobcats have not done well against the Bayfield Wolverines recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Ignacio came out on top against Bayfield by a score of 41-33. For Ignacio, this counts as revenge for the 50-33 defeat Bayfield walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Gabe Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ambrose Valdez, who scored seven points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Ignacio now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bayfield, they bumped their record down to 1-10 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Ignacio will square off against Centauri at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bayfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pagosa Springs at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Pagosa Springs will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
