Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Fulshear's 11th in Last 13 Outings

Fulshear got themselves on the board against Alief Hastings on Tuesday, but Alief Hastings never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Bears. Considering the Chargers have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Callahan was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Castillo (OSU), who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Callahan wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Fulshear lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Fulshear has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Alief Hastings, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fulshear will take on Alief Elsik at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Alief Hastings, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Foster at 6:00 p.m. The Falcons will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Bears surely won't give up without a fight.
