Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Thursday after their sixth straight  loss. They fell  67-56 to Douglass. While losing is never fun, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings  (they are ranked 214th, while the Eagles are ranked 91st).
 Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South lost  despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being   Isaiah Grey, who  scored 16 points along with five  rebounds and two  steals. Grey hasn't dropped below 15 points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Auston Jackson, who  scored 13 points.
  Solomon Lewis was nothing short of spectacular for Douglass: he  dropped  a double-double on 19 points and ten  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Curtis Valentine, who  scored nine points along with four  steals.
 Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost seven of their last nine games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Douglass,  the  victory  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 11-6.
 Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will take on the Yellowjackets at TBD on Tuesday. Gwynn Park is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Douglass, they will head out on the road to  take on  the Pumas at 8:20  p.m.  on Saturday. Wise knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully the Eagles like a good challenge.
