Baseball Recap: Century Beats Mankato East for Their Fourth Straight Win

Century put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Mankato East Cougars. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Carter Simonson and Aiden Yochim did most of the damage at the plate: Simonson went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Yochim scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Jack Esau was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Century's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Mankato East, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Century will challenge rival Mankato West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mankato East is set to face off against their familiar foe Owatonna at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
