Union Area and Jeannette squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Union Area had to settle for second. They came up short against the Jeannette Jayhawks, falling 63-39. The Scotties' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Union Area's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Jeannette, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

Union Area does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jeannette, they will host Mercyhurst Prep on March 8th. Mercyhurst Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 18 games -- so hopefully Jeannette likes a good challenge.
