It was a good run, but The Granger Lancers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of Bountiful. The low total for Granger limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
Bountiful found their leader in underclassman Siaki Fekitoa, who rushed for 124 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. Fekitoa was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Geilman, who rushed for seven yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Bountiful's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. Granger's QB won't forget Joshua Liljenquist anytime soon given Liljenquist sacked him six times.
Granger's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Bountiful, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-4.
Granger does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bountiful will head out on the road to face off against Springville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Springville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
