Sunset won the last time they faced Downtown Doral and things went their way on Thursday too. The Knights put the hurt on the Dolphins with a sharp 9-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won five contests in a row.

Angel Lopez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Nicholas Roca was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sunset is undefeated when Roca posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Kelvin Manso also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Sunset always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Downtown Doral only posted an OBP of .250.

Sunset pushed their record up to 11-11 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Downtown Doral, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Sunset and Downtown Doral are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Knights will square off against Killian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Sunset surely won't give up without a fight. As for Downtown Doral, they will challenge Sports Leadership & Management at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Sports Leadership & Management has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.78 runs per game on average), something Downtown Doral will no doubt try to take advantage of.
