Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue East Chieftains vs. Fremont Tigers

The Bellevue East Chieftains will take on the Fremont Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bellevue East is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.2 points per game this season.

Bellevue East had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 39-point drubbing they dealt Omaha Northwest on Thursday. Bellevue East breezed past Omaha Northwest to the tune of 71-32. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Brani Jackson was her usual excellent self, en route to 18 points in addition to seven steals and five assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jayla Wilson, who on her way to 13 points along with six assists and three steals.

Bellevue East smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through an 88-47 loss at the hands of Bellevue West. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.

Bellevue East's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Fremont, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-17.

Bellevue East came out on top in a nail-biter against Fremont in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 49-47. Will Bellevue East repeat their success, or does Fremont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
