Windsor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the El Cerrito Gauchos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Windsor extended their postseason success on Friday against Rancho Cotate. They walked away with a 14-7 win over the Cougars. Given Windsor's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Rancho Cotate is ranked 225th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, El Cerrito stacked a ninth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Heritage at home to the tune of 55-17. Winning may never get old, but El Cerrito sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Windsor has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.2 points per game. As for El Cerrito, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Windsor came up short against El Cerrito when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 34-27. Can Windsor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
