Warren Central hasn't had much luck against Jackson Prep recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warren Central Vikings will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Jackson Prep Patriots at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Warren Central has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Warren Central will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Germantown, who they had gone 1-7-1 against in their nine prior meetings. Warren Central had just enough and edged out Germantown 6-4.
Hayes Loper made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Loper was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Beau Bradley tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Blake Caruthers, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jacob Kealhofer, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Jackson Prep put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-7 win over Lamar.
Gardner Young was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he's hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Powell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Jackson Prep's victory was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs over those games. As for Warren Central, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Warren Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Jackson Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
