The Boyertown Bears pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Norristown by a score of 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (63), Boyertown still had to take the loss.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ryan Thompson, who scored 15 points along with six assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brant Rath, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Boyertown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Boyertown has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Norristown, they pushed their record up to 9-11 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Boyertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Norristown will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Owen J. Roberts is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
