Ribault is 10-0 against Paxon School For Advanced Studies since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Ribault Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Ribault posted their biggest victory since December 5, 2023 on Wednesday. They really took it to Fletcher for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-15 victory at home. Given Ribault's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Fletcher is ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ribault got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nyeemah Dixon out in front who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacoreyn Andrews, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Paxon School For Advanced Studies came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against University Christian by a score of 46-34.
Ribault's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Ribault was able to grind out a solid win over Paxon School For Advanced Studies in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 72-64. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Paxon School For Advanced Studies' Nina Kamma-Hill, who scored 20 points along with five assists.
