Landon Hohler and Braden Hall were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Hohler struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hall struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Hohler a new career-high. At bat, Hohler went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Hall went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Hall is becoming a predictor of Huron's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Max Jacobs and Sam Cox did most of the damage at the plate: Jacobs went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Cox went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Cox a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Periat, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Elyria Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Catholic. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Huron's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Elyria Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
