The Flint River Academy Wildcats will be playing at home against the Lafayette Christian Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Flint River Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with a 61-54 win over St. George's.
It was another big night for Cartwright, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lafayette Christian stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 72-52 margin over Central Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Lafayette Christian has posted since December 5, 2023.
Lafayette Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tellez, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 4 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Tellez has scored at least a third of Lafayette Christian's points. Joshua Zapata was another key contributor, scoring 29 points along with two steals.
Flint River Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Lafayette Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Flint River Academy took a serious blow against Lafayette Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 65-28.
