Softball Recap: Richland County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Richland County can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Chester Yellowjackets. Considering the Tigers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Miranda Dowty, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Knox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Richland County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Richland County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Chester, they moved to 16-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland County will face off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chester, they will take on Valmeyer at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
