Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Eudora Cardinals, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. Their rough 50-27 loss to Atchison on Friday might stick with them for a while. Eudora was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Atchison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Atchison got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Carter out in front who rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns on only 18 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Carter, who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns.
Eudora's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Atchison, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Eudora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Atchison will be playing in front of their home fans against Tonganoxie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tonganoxie is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
