Langtree Charter has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Mountain Island Charter Raptor at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Langtree Charter was beaten by the Cardinals 78-47. While losing is never fun, Langtree Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 103rd).
Meanwhile, Mountain Island Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They suffered a rough 72-52 loss at the hands of Pine Lake Prep. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain Island Charter has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Peyton Hill, who scored 13 points. Christan Jones was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
