Mojave River recap November 5, 2013
Serrano scaled the state rankings by moving to 142 from 180 this week, the biggest jump in Mojave River. The Diamondbacks were able to move up by beating Hesperia 55-17.
Serrano added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Scorpions, 55-17. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Geordan King was a force in the backfield as the Diamondbacks defeated Hesperia.
King was a passing and rushing force as Serrano topped Jeremy Topete's team. King's key target this week was Ryan Acuna, who caught 2 passes for 67 yards.
David Forbes threw for 160 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 8-15 with 1 interception.
Dustin Earhart made the biggest impact on defense this week as Oak Hills defeated Sultana. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed 1 sack.
King was the best running back in the league this week. In 32 carries, he ran for 232 yards as the Diamondbacks fell to the Diamondbacks. Teammate Acuna added to the ground attack by rushing for 44 yards.
On the heels of Nolan Brammer and De Zhontaey flecher, the Bulldogs have had great success on offense. Brammer leads the league in passing with 1,669 yards, while flecher has rushed for 1,351 yards this season. Hesperia's Crummel leads the league in receiving yards with 798 on 57 catches.
Semaje Williams of the the Scorpions is just 50 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 149 carries Williams has accumulated 950 yard this year.
An important game coming up in Mojave River this week will be when Serrano takes on Apple Valley. The Diamondbacks are currently in first, while the Sun Devils are in third.
Sultana fell to Oak Hills 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
